Jalen Rose, Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Ray Jackson and Jimmy King eventually took over all 5 starting spots for the Wolverines and finished the regular season 20-8.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e That was good enough for a #6 seed in the Southeast Region of the NCAA Tournament.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eEarly round wins against Temple and East Tennessee State put the young Michigan squad in the Sweet 16 against #2 seed Oklahoma State.  A narrow 3 point win put the Wolverines within one game of the Final Four.  Standing in their way was their most hated rival and #1 seed, Ohio State.  In an epic regional final the Fab Five outlasted Jim Jackson's Buckeyes in OT, 75-71.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eA win against Nick Van Exel's Cincinnati Bearcats put Michigan in the National Championship game against the defending champs, the Duke Blue Devils.
