Starting the season unranked, Southern Cal put the nation on notice beating #4 Ohio State, 79-77. It was the first of four wins vs. top 5 ranked teams on the year. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eTwo of those four wins were against UCLA and the other was 70-69 classic against #2 Arizona in the final game of the regular season. USC finished 22-5 on the year, 15-3 in the conference and earned a #2 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Trojans success was in large part because of their dynamic guard, Harold Miner.
